ASHLAND, Ky. — The top two seeds, No. 1 Caroline Dolehide and No. 2 Nao Hibino, withdrew in their quarterfinals matches in the main draw of the Braidy Industries $60,000 Women’s Tennis Classic at the Ashland Tennis Center on Friday.

Hibino of Japan didn’t continue her match against qualifier Gail Brodsky (USA) with Brodsky ahead 2-1 in the first set. Dolehide (USA) was officially a walkover as she didn’t begin her match against Misaki Doi of Japan.

Another qualifier, Maegan Manasse (USA), used three sets to beat Sanaz Marand (USA) 4-6, 6-3, 6-1.

Jovana Jaksic of Serbia defeated Renata Zarazua of Mexico 6-2, 6-3 to set the semifinals.

Doi will take on Manasse in one semifinal, while Jaksic and Brodsky will face off on the other side of the draw. Both matches will be lived streamed back to back on the stadium court on Saturday. The first match, Jaksic vs. Brodsky, will begin at 10 a.m.

The doubles finals are now set. Sanaz Marand (USA) and Whitney Osuigwe (USA) defeated Brynn Boren (USA) and Brodsky 7-5, 6-3. On the other side of the draw, Jovana Jaksic (SRB) and Zarazua (MEX) beat Chanel Simmonds (RSA) and Abigal Tere-Apisah (PNG) 2-6, 6-4, 10-4.

The doubles championship will be the third and final match on the showcourt Saturday, and will be live streamed at ashlandprotennis.com.
