LEXINGTON, Ky. — The doubles champions were crowned on Saturday night at the 2018 Kentucky Bank Tennis Championships with Ena Shibahara (USA) and Hailey Carter (USA) taking home the trophy on the women’s side, and Robert Galloway (USA) and Roberto Maytin (VEN) winning on the men’s side.

Both matches were straight-forward in straight sets and comprehensively decisive wins. Shibahara/Carter won 6-3, 6-1 on court two with early breaks in each set and then a dazzling display of shotmaking down the stretch to win the final five games and defeat Sanaz Mirand (USA) and Victoria Rodriguez (MEX).

Carter played her way into the 32-player main draw of the Braidy Industries Women’s Tennis Classic by winning the tournament’s prequalifier at the Ashland Tennis Center in Ashland, Ky., in mid-July. She was the top-ranked women’s college singles player in the country when she was at North Carolina in 2016.
